VDL TBP Electronics invests in efficient high-end selective soldering machine

4 January 2023

After a thorough evaluation process in cooperation with SMANS, VDL TBP Electronics has invested in the smart and fast selective soldering process ERSA VERSAFLOW 4/55 UU with 4 fully independent solder pots.

This advanced selective soldering machine is already installed and operational and offers the following benefits, among others:

  • fiducial recognition;
  • two independent flux heads controlled by laser technology;
  • top-heating unit above the 2 separate solder modules, this keeps the PCBAs at temperature to ensure a stress-free optimum solder joint;
  • barcode scanning for mixed production;
  • up to 4 times faster soldering thanks to the smart configuration chosen.
Efficient soldering process

The VERSAFLOW 4/55 is equipped with an YJLINK multi-level loader and unloader, which automatically follows the correct width setting. The result is a highly efficient selective soldering process, pontifically situated in the centre of the production floor, allowing employee and machine to work together optimally.

Growing portfolio

To facilitate the growing portfolio and reshoring, perfect control of the production processes is a necessity. Expertise and a quick response are guaranteed at Smans and ERSA. Thanks to the cooperation with these parties, we can optimally supply even more customers with high-quality soldered pcbas (printed circuit board assemblies) in the future.
